Four quiet steps, every day.

No terminal. No keys to copy. No storage settings to fill in.

Protect. Store. Watch. Recover.

It does the work on its own and tells you what matters.

  1. 01

    Protect

Your Mac and the drives you choose, encrypted before anything leaves.

  2. 02

    Store

Into your own Amazon account, billed by Amazon. Tojuri never sees your bill or card.

  3. 03

    Watch

The Home screen and the menu bar say what is protected, in plain words.

  4. 04

    Recover

A few files cost pennies. Everything back is about $99 to $134 per TB in Amazon fees. Files backed up more than 90 days ago are ready within 12 to 48 hours.

Lola plugs a drive into her laptop
Mia waves goodbye on her way home
Nana glances at her laptop
Pip holds up his drawing
  1. ProtectLola plugs in her drive. Picked up on its own.
  2. StoreMia heads home. The shop's Mac does the rest.
  3. WatchNana glances at the menu bar. All protected.
  4. RecoverPip gets last night's drawing back.

The Tojuri app.

Four screens you will actually use.

How a backup was checked, including a test file read back and matched.
Recover: pick a backup, then restore any file or folder from it.
Settings: back up automatically once a day, every day at 2:00 AM.

Checked, not assumed.

The app shows which checks each backup has passed.

What Tojuri can see. What it cannot.

Your files are encrypted on your Mac, and Tojuri does not hold the key. If each party were compromised:

Locked, so nothing quietly erases it.

Each backup is locked for 180 days. Only your own Amazon administrator, using a deliberate override, can remove it early.

  • Tojuri tries to delete a backup.Refused
  • Someone in your Mac tries.Refused
  • Everyday Amazon access tries.Refused
  • Anyone tries to switch the lock off.Not possible
  • Your own Amazon administrator, on purpose. Can remove early

Amazon enforces the lock. Guard your Amazon administrator sign-in with a strong password and a second step.

Built on engines that earned trust.

A small Mac

Tojuri does not invent a storage format. It is built on restic, a mature, open-source backup engine.

Tojuri adds the rest: guided setup, plain status, the cost before you recover, and a way back without us.

For Macs with Apple silicon, running macOS 14 Sonoma or later.

What we promise.

Four principles behind all of it.

  1. Plan for every breach.

We plan for Tojuri, your Mac or Amazon being compromised.

  2. Recovery cost, told upfront.

A full recovery has a real wait and a real Amazon bill. You see both first, then choose.

  3. Your storage is yours.

Your backups live in your own Amazon account. If you leave Tojuri, they stay there.

  4. No single point of failure.

If Tojuri shuts down, your Recovery Kit, your Amazon sign-in and the free recovery tool still bring your files back. See how.

Where this is headed.

A direction, not a promise. No dates.

    For invited people first.

  2. FirstMore Macs and family

The name.

Tojuri, said toh-JOO-ree, is inspired by the Yoruba idea of caring for, keeping and preserving what matters.
